Meet The Vivace Crew

Taylor Bowker

Taylor was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and was by no means brought up around, or on the Ocean. It was his attraction to adventure and travel that pushed him to sail a 40ft catamaran across the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Town, South Africa to Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 18. It was from there that he began his career on yachts.
Taylor has traveled a vast amount of the world by sea, having encountered all sorts of weather and emergencies in his years of yachting. Taylor has performed and excelled in every role throughout his yachting career, including chief engineer on a 146ft jet drive yacht at the age of 28. Due to his extensive knowledge on the land, sea and behind the scene mechanics, Taylor carry’s a calm, collected and educated approach to any situation. Taylor has been Captaining motor yachts since the age of 25 and will ensure you a safe voyage aboard Vivace.
To top it off Taylor holds a PADI dive master, certified free diver and is an expert spear fisherman. If you are interested in water sports, Taylor is your guy. He can lead you through the lively reefs and wrecks of the clear Bahamas water and even catch your dinner!
This, along with his friendly demeanor has created a favorable reputation for Taylor in the super yachting industry. 1st Mate

Sheldan Language

Sheldan grew up in the beautiful farmlands of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Pietermaritzburg where his family lived on a sugar cane plantation. Being a countryside boy and a keen athlete with a deep love for the outdoors he began
competing in various Division one sports such as rugby, soccer, cricket and field hockey. Traveling across South Africa to compete in various tournaments, Sheldan has always held an incredibly strong drive and an endearing passion to succeed. At the ripe age of 14, Sheldan enrolled in a German boarding school in Wartburg, South Africa where he spent plenty of time immersed in his German education and home economics.

Sheldan has a long history in the hospitality and sales industry. After a fruitful career in the corporate world Sheldan decided to follow his love for the
ocean and joined the yachting industry. He has been lucky to travel the coasts of the Mediterranean, North East coast, Caribbean and Bahamas. Sheldan has grown into a successful first mate on board Vivace with goals to become a captain one day.

When Sheldan is not onboard you will likely find him fishing, water-skiing or at the local pub wearing his Springbok jersey and cheering on his favorite team
from his homeland (he is a massive rugby fan!). Sheldan is a sweet, classic gentleman with a big heart and a lot of love to share. His ability to befriend anyone comes from being 1 of 5 siblings. He is a popular member of the crew with a larger than life personality and the ability to charm any crew member or passenger onboard Vivace. Ask him to join you on a fishing trip or a jet ski ride and you will surely be entertained!
